Default Replace Fake Oil Pressure Gauge on NB

More coming on this post. Sorry, short on time. This is a dual oil temp/pressure gauge install in OEM location

Aborted Attempt to fit Whole Gauge.

Spooky, telling myself it'll be ok to desolder gauge:

Soldered once internal wires to a dual row header from my leftover PnP kits:

Gauge basically in place:

Backside with connector harbor-freight-epoxied in place:

Close to final product. Lighting it not worked out yet and I may put original gauge's cover over needle bases.

This took some milling of the back of the black plastic bezel, simple dremel stuff. Of course I forgot to write down which wires do what, so I know which two are which needles (by putting ohm meter across and watching them move) but I'm not 100% sure which is power and which is ground. Perhaps asking the manufacturer will yield useful info, otherwise I can likely see through the front if I remove bezel again.

Gauge is a lightweight dual model sold by Westach. I'd always wanted to put my boost gauge there, and when I finally worked up the nerve to do it, I found I was running more boost than the 16 psi gauge would display. HA!

It might not be a PERFECT match but I think it'll be quite good. Next up: LED indicator lights so I can run more channels off the 'logic level' outputs on my MS3.
-Abe.

Doesn't look to bad. Glad I'm not the only one fiddling with oil gauges. Whats the plan for the LEDs?

Heh. Nice Av.

There isn't one. I know, I'm a bad person. But in the process of rewiring whole car, getting serial coms working with a computer I've yet to even install, upgrading fuel pump wiring, adding EBC, VVT, etc.... yeah, it's taking a back seat. But when I put the cover over the needle ends, I think I'll pervert the OEM lighting into shining through the holes.

Oh, you don't mean LED lighting of the gauge. Sorry. Um, just check engine, knock, low oil pressure, etc etc. I mean, idiot lights are way better than gauges - hopefully I'll have both.

Oh goodness, I have no idea. Just check out Westach. They are alright guys, sent me free parts when I was having troubles. They have all kinds of interesting stuff and I got the gauge a decade ago. They did have a slick 4-way EGT which I thought was cute, if not useful.

2 1/4 I believe. 2" would fit much better. :-)
