No TPS + Stock ECU?

I have an emissions test looming in the next week and ive put it back to the stock ecu, AFM, purge solenoid, open wastegate, blocked Bov. Took it out for a spin and seemed really gutless. Would having no tps cause this and is it a concern for my emmissions test?

btw, i was sort of impressed at the stock ECU's ability to keep a stoich mixture all the time.

Off topic, but which years came with TPS and which didnt? Does TPS really provide that much tuning advantage for MS.

I read that the MAP is plenty sufficient, but like always I am curious.

the 1.8's had an actual TPS that read acutal throttle position, but all miatae had a TPS...you thread jacker....rolf

The 1.6 Automatics had TPS, the Manual Transmission not.

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor. An analog (potentiometer) device which outputs a voltage which varies with throttle setting. Found in all '94+ Miatae, as well as '90-'93 cars with an automatic transmissions.

Confusingly however,

TPS also = Throttle Position Switch. A simple device consisting of two switches, yielding a total of three positions:
1- Throttle is completely closed. (fuel cutoff and idle)
2- Throttle is completely open (WOT)
3- Throttle is somewhere between closed and open (everything else)
Found on '90-'93 cars with manual transmissions.
