Default feeling pretty good had a tie with a Pontiac G8 GXP

Heey all,

Just had to share a nice experience today... was taking a leisure drive to the local target to get some cat food when I had a little run-in with a Pontiac G8 GXP.
Never put much thought into these cars and normally don’t mess with folks on the road; but today…it was different. More or less I was minding my own business and was playing in the middle lane of our local toll road. Kept the car at a good clip till a dumbass in a focus decided that it would be better for him to move from the right lane to the same lane I was in. I made a fast lane change to the right lane and just gassed a little to squirt by and continue on my way. Well out of the blue some grumpy middle-aged dude thought that it would be fun to do a rice-boy flyby.
Dude pulls over from the left lane and then just darts right at me in the middle lane. I figure he just was oblivious but then he just kept provoking me for a little run. All lanes were open in front of us and we’re both feeling good… so I decided to give it a whirl.
We took off and made a good run for about 30 seconds. I was lazy and only dropped into 5th but still kept up after losing a little ground at first. Toll booth comes up and the timing was decent enough to get side by side on the take-off. Well… I didn’t get the best launch; but still pulled on him by maybe half a car. We ran for a good bit and just really held close to the same distances. On one side I was a little bummed that I didn’t kill him; but at the same time I was feeling better when I got home and read the specs on the car. Not sure if I should celebrate or go get moar boost.
Anyhow, just had to share a little experience and see if I should have shamed him…or not.
Cheers,
Prospero

Glad my diet is working! LOL Down nearly 70 LBS since Christmas

Yeah the guy in the car seemed to be really pissed by the fact I was never in his rearview mirror. ******* car of his sounded mean as hell and I was for sure that I was gonna get my *** handed to me...

As for boost.... I'm hittin 14ish PSI and was using my flat-shifting. Had maybe a 1/4 tank of gas and car was still hot from traffic. Would love to get a run with this guy from dead-stop and see what happens since I wasn't losing ground with the shifts; so it could be cool or sad! lol

Gonna install the EBC for sure this weekend and go lookin for that guy!
Cheers,
Prospero

You need a 2560, or a 2860/71. You're not going to get much more out of that 2554.

Pat,
If I don't have to re-do all my intercooler stuff... then maybe we can do something here. I'd like to have more boost

We'll for sure chat about the potato!

Cheers,
Prospero

Hahaha, i'm surprised no one said anything about this. *Insert generic MT car joke/comment*

That's cool that you kept up with him. I know some guys who are die hard American Muscle fans and they will NEVER admit losing to anything other than another v8 car. It's literally like listening to a honda kid after they lose. Funny how none of them want to race me now that my car is running

G8-GT is no Joke of a car. It's actually one of the fastest pontiacs ever made. Very respectable especially for a 4 door sedan.
