O2 clamp help.

I have someone that is supposed to buy the miata that we took the SC off of.

That car never had any issues with bogging going into boost. Now that we swapped the SC, the new car boggs. I think the other car must have a O2 clamp.

Does anyone have a picture of one, and does it go on the ecu or the sensor?

There is something wired into the ecu. I had forgot about it till know. I wounder if that is it?

An O2 clamp would be activated with an air/vacuum line in most cases, but there are so many different circuits and activation techniques that maybe you could post a picture of what you have so we could all try to identify it.

It's usually a little box (or bare circuit board) that will be installed in the wiring near the ECU. The ones I built were plain gray or black metal boxes about 1"x1"x1.5", with nothing but a couple of wires coming out one side. Pretty boring to look at, actually.

For a 1.6, it'll be connected to the red/blue wire (which is covered in a black sheath) at pin 2N of the ECU. (This wire should be cut, and both ends routed through the clamp.) It'll also have power, ground, and some kind of sensing mechanism- either electrical (to a switch or MAP sensor) or a vacuum line.

Well, where is it wired to?

Thanks, I get off in a hr. I'm going to run by my brothers and try to take it off before driving it to the woman. She wants the car, and I don't want to miss a sell. But if worse case senario, she gets a free o2 clamp she will never know about, and my brother will be out some doe.

The wires are blue and black and they run behind the dash. So I'll have to trace it out. The car had a alarm system on it. I wounder if it is one of those so start alarm things.

I bought it from a kid, who bought it from a guy that didn't know how to get it running again.:jerkit:

So I had no answers to any of my questions.

Thanks for the fast response guys.
