Your idea seems fairly sound. The cursed water plug is going to flow less coolant than stock while the thermostat is closed, but it's still an optimum location to be taking the bypass from. I don't see any major problems. |

Thanks Joe! Thats the simplest Reroute there is!
PS: Looks like the Cursed plug can be drilled out a bit for better flow, not that I would need it but with a little more flow its the perfect reroute design. |

Better question: Where in the world do you buy metric taps that big? I need one as I need to reinstall my coolant sensor. I drilled and tapped the old hole 3/8 NPT for a GM sensor. And now my gauge inside don't work.

My dad thinks he got his in a kit from Home Depot, it's Vermont American. He's had it for quite a while so I don't know if they still carry it.

12mm is correct. I took the cover to the hardware store and a 12x1.5 bolt went right in.

Well maybe my 99's is different it has 3 wires FWIW. I dunno. If it wasn't so damn cold outside I'd go mike it out. It's just laying on the valve cover.

The green plug sensor on the 1.6 is prob not tapered, it had a "crush washer" in it to seal. If it was some sort of pipe thread it would not need that. Heading to hardware store....

Ok, Do I really need the coolant going to the EGR and the TB? I'm thinking, out the intake to the oil cooler than to the water pump...ok?

That is the back of a 1.8l. IcantDo55 is doing this on a 1.6l which doesn't have the same ports. |
