Default Oil Temp Sensor Location

Can somebody point me in the direction of the thread that discusses this? I'm planning to drill and tap my pan but I'm not sure exactly where I should do it and I can't find the thread I saw it in before. Or just tell me where to drill, if that's easier. Thanks!

You dont want it near the filter or your oil cooler sandwich plate because it will ready low or change every second. The place is passenger side oil pan, not near the turbo oil drain.

Ok cool. Is there anything back there to watch out for? I know the pickup tube is on the driver's side but I think I recall seeing baffles or something. I'll just tape the bit up real good like and not go through too far.

I'd drill and tap the drain plug, did the same for the temp. sensor in the differential

I think one of the adapters from autometer is a direct fit for the oil drain plug

I just took a diff drain plug from a junker, drilled and tapped for a 1/8 NPT sensor. I have an oil drain plug temp sensor too and one oil temp gauge. Using a switch to choose wich temp to show on the gauge, engine oil or diff. oil. Necessary? Maybe not, but it keeps me busy
