Default Bride low max

Hi,
I have a 90 Miata and have talked to a guy on craigslist about his bride lowmax seats, takata harnesses and harness bar he has for sale. I have him talked downt to $800 for two bride lowmax seat (he says they are gias iii) both with Miata brackets and sliders. Two takata harnesses and a harness bar. He doesn't know if they are authentic or not and seeming that he bought them off eBay I'm assuming they are. So my question is, is this a good deal? Thanks guys! I'm new here so if I'm in the wrong section just let me know

Yeah, you've got the wrong section. You're looking for clubroadster.net.

The fact that he bought them from ebay makes it likely that they are not real. Real seats have a cert from bride on them with a date stamp. Just did my good deed for the day, spoon fed a noob!

The question wasn't weather or not the seats were real. The question was, is that a good price for what was listed... thanks for the warm welcome you asshats, I the "noob" will take this thread elsewhere.

How can we answer if it's a good price or not if you don't even know what the seller is trying to sell?

Either they are authentic, (probably not). Or they are fake, (most likely). Answer I was looking for is something along the lines of, if they are authentic then its a really good deal and if they are fake its still a good deal... Thank you all for your time

It's still hard to tell.

I answered you in your CR thread to give you a guide.

The real answer here is: You can get brand new seats and harnesses for not much more than that, they just won't say "Takata" or "Bride" and you won't get all the JDM honeys.

What's important to you?

Rails and sliders alone will be minimully $200... If the harness are real, that means good safe harnesses for cheap. And it doesn't really matter if the seats are real to me because it will serve the same purpose with the exception of different fabric. Its just an added bonus that they are branded with legitimate company names. once I see them in person I will be able to determine weather or not they are authentic.

I was just looking for a second opinion on whether or not someone with more experience in racing seats thinks its a good deal

Haha I know, that's why it's bullshit to just get shot down immediately by some who thinks they know what they are talking about. Again, mainly just looking for the opinion of someone with more experience. Thanks again

I'll bite. If legit seats, good deal. If fakes, not a good deal. I would probably rock the reps on a mostly street car, I've heard the reps are actually pretty nice. However, not for $800 imo. Those seats go for ~$400 shipped for the pair (replica bride lowmax).

Harnesses, i would never use a replica or fake. If the seats are fakes, how do you know the harnesses aren't?

harnesses from the pictures appear to be real from what I have seen. I am 90% sure they are... As for the seats, they are still in his car so I cannot check anything like the spring or stickers ect...

5 and 6 point harnesses are good, 4 points dont have any anti-submarine measures so when it crash you submarine and the buckle tries to remove your ribcage and internal organs. There's a thread on it with an informative video on this site that I dont feel like digging up.
