Oil temp sending unit mounting

So I had mounted my oil temp sending unit a few months back. I put a "T" into the block where the oil pressure sending unit is, to run a feed line to supply the turbo. I also put a "T" on top of that "T" and I mounted my oil pressure sending unit there. Do you guys think this is a good place to get an accurate reading? If it's a nice day out (60-70 degrees) and I cruise my car on the open road, it usually runs at 165 degrees? In the 100 degree heat of summer, it never went over 195. I was thinking about relocating the sending unit to my oil pan, but drilling that on the lower sump is a real tight pain in the ass. Think I should leave well enough alone? FVI, my oil supply line to turbo is -4 and it runs to an oil cooler, and then to the turbo.

Oops, I fucked up.

Put the sensor in the pan.

Mine is at the oil cooler sandwich plate but goes from 50C-80C alot. It's going to move to the pan later.

Mine is in the pan- consistent readings.

I have a relocated plate at the firewall for the pressure, but chose not to use extra "T" for the Temp....
I am looking into using the existing drain plug as a source for tapping a Temp sensor in it.

I believe you can get a ready made drain plug just for that purpose.

That was a great idea until I broke mine off the first day I had it in the VW.

however, I'd love to get a 1/2"npt-1/4"npt adapter for my greddy egt probe...or just sell it.

I don't have that kind of muskle powa! ;)
That's why I haven't done it yet.....I've heard of it being done. Just not the "bads" that it can do. Thanks yo!
