Ok guys i finally got a problem help

I got the lsd out of the rx7 pumpkin and my open 96 diff out as well. And i tried to insert the halshaft to see if it fit correctly and, much to my dismay it did not go into the rx7 diff as far as it did the 96 diff am i missing something here i thought this was gonna be a simple bolt on procedure. So wtf. Thanks in advance for the help. comeon now i realy wanna try out this diff.

magnamx-5 02-09-2007 02:16 PM

I replied to you on .net with:

Did you change the clips out to the RX-7 ones? and do you have to opening of the clip oriented upward while inserting?
You do need the RX-7 clips and you do need to point the opening of the clip upward during insertion for it to go in easiest. It still requires a bit of force even with those things being done.

magnamx-5 02-09-2007 02:56 PM

Mazda only I'm sure. That is where being a Mazda Motorsports member has it's advantages. I can or them from the comfort of my computer and have them delivered to my house in a few days.

ehh, call finishline. I'm sure Tommy can help you out. Or trussville.

Braineack 02-09-2007 03:14 PM

I'll need the clips as well. I might as well order 4 and send them up to you when i get them.....let me check mazda motorsport for the prices...pretty sure it's part P016-27-421 if you wanna look it up locally.

Glad it at least FITS, I should have told you about the clips. You damn scared me thinking I led you to buy a LSD that wouldn't work, cause damn that would be dumb

bripab007 02-09-2007 03:21 PM

I bought 2 Miata clips and 2 RX-7 clips from Trussville for pennies on the dollar.

Dude, yer fuckin' nutz! I've mentioned it any time I've ever jumped in to answer questions about LSDs on this forum...definitely mentioned the clips more than a couple times. Do I need to throw down a new RX-7 LSD FAQ to complement Scott's Turbo FAQ?
