Parallel Fan Mod Failure

Well I thought this would be simple, and It was until I tested it and only 1 fan turned on. The radiator fan turns on but not the A/C when I jump the Diag box. Also to note when I turn on my A/C only one fan turns on, aren't both fans supposed to kick on with A/C on? I followed the Hakuna writeup and soldered all the connections.

Why not just jump it at the megasquirt harness?

Its two pins over and under one another.

I dont quite remember which pins, its car specific, but if you look at the madracki diagrams you can easily tell. Basically you are tieing both grounds at the ECU together.

Ok, first go verify that both fans work. Be sure they both work. Sounds like one's dead if you soldered the two fan wires together at the ecu and only one is coming on.

Actually I didn't solder them at the ECU all I did was this http://www.miata.net/hakuna/parallel...%20wiring.html
and how can I test the A/C fan?

Hmm, try squirting them with a water hose and see if they come on. Try pouring gasoline on them. Maybe try runing 12V+ and Ground to the two wires on the fan motor and see if the fan operates. Try adjusting the air in your tires and see if that helps.

Come on man, these questions are quite elementary. I'll help you the best I can, but you gotta help yourself too. I don't know you wired the fans together right. I have no clue if they ever worked right before you did whatever you did. My best suggestion is to manually put power the fans with a length of wire from a known good Ground and +12V source and verify the fans work. If they both work, then find out if they're getting power, which they probably are not. Go from there. If they both power on when 12V is applied, you probably aren't triggering them properly. It's already been said to look at the Madraki diagrams that are on this forum and look it up. There posted at the bottom in "useful saved post" I believe. Find out what wires trigger the fan relays and short them together near the stock ecu.

There, I went out of my way to help you. Don't get pissy that my post sounds rude and blunt, it's not meant to. I just get frustrated when people fail to take advice.
