Parts help
Ok, I've tried reading all over this but I can't get a solid answer, so I figured I'd just post. I'm doing my first turbo miata, I just bought a kit from CRX:bigtu: and I all ready have an E-manage. I already have the injectors. What I need to know is how much can the stock fuel pump, rear end, and tranny take in a 1.6? I want 200 whp...but if the rear end and tranny can't take it can't take it I'll go for 180. And I've seen on here everyone is usin 2.5' exhauste and I was thinking about 2.75' or even 3', would that help at all?
Thanks Brian |
stock pump max depends on the injectors and the pressure. this is also related to the about of boost you run.
your transmission and differntial will hold @ 200 hp if you aren't punishing them. 3" exhaust on a 1.6 = overkill. |
transmission will hold, rear might not. If you are easy on it, i.e., no clutch dumps and difting it shouldn't be a problem. I've abused mine since I've had the car and even now with the turbo no problems yet :x:
180-190hp is usually the limit to the rear end, but without abuse it shouldn't have any trouble. 2.5" exhaust is plenty |
I hate to say it, but I plan to beat it. So what would be a safe amount of power to go with and still be dependable? (this is my only car) 42pounds of preasure with probly supra or rx7 injectors is what I wanna use. I thought that with a turbo you want as much free flowing exhaust as possible?

start searching and reading. the only way you're going to effectively run injectors that big is with a standalone ecu. you can swap in a 1.9 torse, drive shaft and axles.
that's about $1500-2000 right there. |
