Perfect tuning gauge CAN +/- wiring question
 

Hey guys I have a question regarding the CANbus wiring CAN+ and CAN- wiring when installing in my 1996 with an ms3x I built following the trubokitty.com instructions.

Wondering what the best/ easiest way to intercept the CAN +/- wires so that they can hook up to the gauge. From what I can tell there is no CAN wiring going into the megasquirt which is where I ran the wires from the gauge to initially. I have the prebuilt wiring harnesses from diy auto tune that plug into the ECU which include a labeled wire for CAN +/- but they are not hooked up to anything on the other end. My only thought was to intercept the CAN +/- at the obd2 port under the steering wheel and then attach a jumper over to the ecu wiring but I have no clue if that's the proper way to do it or if that will mess up anything. If somebody could give me some pointers it would be greatly appreciated.

Any can bus wires running to the obd2 port are not going to lead back to your megasquirt module....

Did you run the jumpers referenced in the manual?

First of all thanks for the reply. I am a total noob when it comes to anything electrical so forgive my ignorance on the topic. I just assembled my ms3x using the trubo kitty guide and so I did not do those jumpers. The guide skips a lot of components on the board but has been working fine in my car for the past 6 months. If I found it correctly you are talking about the js6-->spr1= CANH and JS8 -> SPR2 = CANL . Just took apart the ecu now to confirm and those jumpers were not installed. I will install the jumpers sometime soon to fix this. Once I install the jumpers do I just run the 2 wires from my gauge into the designated canbus wires on the ecu harness to get things working? If so I have already done that wiring previously.
