Pics of my new street car

Got it back from the painter a few months ago and just got around to loading pics of it on my work computer. Unfortunately my room mate went retarded last Sunday and backed into it, so it's not so pretty any more, but it was for a while. I can't have anything nice...

I'm not normally a matte/flat finish fan, but those with those stripes matching the wheels, I like it.
|
I was hesitant to do the flat clear, but I hoped the stripes and wheels would tie it all together. I'm pretty thrilled with how it looks now.

Needs more mirrors and roll bar. Then it will be hott.

 Nice BTW |
Lol, thanks, Lev. I have an HCHDSD sitting in my painter's shop as we speak. Once he gets the car to repair all the damage the romm mate did with his truck/ weapon, he's going to fill the passenger side mirror holes and I'll buy an APR or something comperable for the driver's side. He'll also paint the roll bar to match the black on the rest of the car, and I'm going to use some Tech Spec (TechSpec-usa Motorcycle Gripster Tank Pads) grip tape to protect the paint on the bar from careless seat belt buckles (it looks like it got blasted by a 12ga rock salt load right now).
I'm kicking around doing white everywhere that it's black now. Thoughts? Maybe leave the lip black? |
White with a black lip and those bronze 6uls: hot. Blacking out the tail lights might look good too.

Thats f-in Sick! Love it!!

How bout some day pics, everything looks good at nite.
|
its unique and looks nice....and i dont know what it is but it looks high of the ground
|
Baller, absolutely perfect.

Where were these taken at? I can see the Space Center in the background but haven't run across anything that looks likes this in my exploring of the city yet.
Looks good by the way, if you ever see somebody in a green '96 explorer with VA plates yelling at you that's me, lol. |
On the UAH campus.

Nice, I like it. Agreed, the matching stripes and the wheels really do the trick.I always wondered how a clear coated flat black paint job would look.
Hey that is the Saturn V in the background, cool. I was in Huntsville for a Space Mech Conference last year in the Von Braun Center. We had a dinner one evening in the new museum building where the Saturn V is inside laying on its side. That is one of the coolest things ever, definitely worth taking the time to see if you are traveling through the area. They also have a complete 1st stage F1 Engine sitting there on display right out in the open. I think I stood there for an hour walking around that magnificent creation looking over the ducts, welds, turbopump, just amazing design work and craftsmanship. In short, to quote Butthead, it is the ultimate monument to all that which is ultimate. |

DOH! Well, I really do like the car.
I did not even notice the Space Center until YOU pointed it out. Then I went back and looked, saw the Saturn V, and it all came rushing back. I could not help myself :giggle: The Space Center is really cool. I remember standing at the bottom of that massive rocket, looking up (way up) at the capsule, thinking about the crazy mofos (heroes) that rode the elevator to the top and climbed in to go for the first ride. Not to mention the epic feat of engineering that Von Braun's team pulled off. I could go on and on... but I'll STFU now. |
Lol, thanks, Tex. A friend works in the NASA Admin building on Rideout inside the research Park gate. I stop by and marvel the J-2s on occasion. You can actually walk inside the frustum on one of them. Super bitchin.
BTW, thanks to everybody for the input and complements. I really appreciate that the car was interesting enough to be worth commenting on. |
Well done.
I'm partial to stripes myself. (see sig) |
I like it, but I also want daytime pics.
