planning out my 95
 

Hello everybody,
fairly new to miatas, not new to cars, I'm a Marine stationed in NC and finally got my hands on a nice Miata. It's a white 95 miata, everything is stock with 95k on the clock, has been taken care of really really well. My plans are to make her a reliable turbo'd daily, hopefully making 200-230 and take her to the track a few times a year. Not so worried about looks as I am performance and handling, and also reliable. I know it's no cheap feat, but I am trying to keep to a budget, can put aside 200-400 a month to go tward the car. I know the ms ecu is what I wanna use, but after that, a little clueless, all help apreciated

Read all the stickies in all the sub sections on the forum. You have a ton of learning to do before you go down this path.

Without me fabbing up and pieces purely using the for sale, ebay, and craigslist I could put together a reliable turbo setup with engine management for ~$2k maybe less but i chucked a few hundred in there for misc stuff. Now don't get the expectation of putting one in for that cheap. My point is with experience you can do things quite cost effectively. With more reading you can save yourself some good money and time. You can go to someone like fm who has excellent customer service and pair their kit with an ms or even use their ecu but I still recommend educating yourself prior.

I honestly would start with the ms and suspension. If i were starting from scratch all over again i'd probably start with a MS and then go to SuperMiata BGK

Some people don't feel the same way but I had tons of fun with my car naturally aspirated. Also the good news is you started with a much better platform then someone like myself. You already have a beefier rear end and 1.8L

Thank you guys so much for taking time to reply, I have done and do plan to do much more research, my plan is to buy my suspension, then my ms, then I was already looking into the fm kit without electronics, then I'd just need fuel injectors. I don't wanna piece the kit together from craigslist/ ebay just because the car is my daily driver and I feel like itd be down alot longer then if I had a kit that came with every bolt I needed. main thing I was wondering is basically what order to do what things, I know there's hundreds of combined years of experience here and alot of people have amazing setups, so just wanted the opinions. Actually, if you just wait till you have everything you need then the car would not be down any longer. Make a list of what you need and pick stuff up as you can find it. Let it collect some dust while you check things off your list and then install it. This will give you time to learn MS and get other things taken care of.

Suspension, Saftey and Brakes are a good place to start IMHO.

FM no electronics kit with a MS is what you want. Nothing else on the market will deliver with the guarantee you have everything you need to start the install Friday night, and then be able to drive the car to work on Monday morning.

That was pretty much my plan,fm with the md, I was gonna run lower boost until I could get a clutch and 3in exhaust. between now and then I know I need suspension, and a hard dog, is there anything else I need to do prepping for boost? I will most likely keep the hp around 200-230.

1. Buy a MS3X, and wideband. Install it and learn to tune.
2. Install clutch.
3. Install EV14 GT-500 injectors. Retune.
4. Install turbo setup and 3" exhaust.
