PLEASE HELP WITH 1999 (NB) top swap!!!

Whats going on guys!

obviously I have a 99 Miata with a terribly torn top,

i'm really debating on whether to have a shop replace my top 400-600est.

or taking the challenge on myself over the weekend .

can anyone supply some feedback on how difficult it was to do yourself ?

it would be magnificent if anyone could share a link for a tutorial regarding my year miata for the swap.

thank you everyone in advance!

nothing is going on.
it isn't obvious that you have a 99 with a torn top since pictures weren't provided.
do it yourself.
I didn't do it myself, I removed my soft top and run a hard top full time.
google.

instructions:
1) open google
2) type in "miata top replacement instructions"
3) follow the many instructions provided.

Considering i made the post i thought it was obvious...

most "detailed" totorials online are for (na)

same set up for the top?

Same.

Installing a new top on my car sucked way more than installing a turbo.

EDIT: No, that isn't sarcasm.

I have been hearing the same story Lol I just can't just justify spending 500 for a shop to do it without at least taking a crack at it . My biggest concern is that a lot (all) of the tutorials online are using the NA as the "show car"

Will my NB be using the same tutorial As the NA? Same top set up??

Hi JackGandy,
It looks like you were successful in getting the info you needed to install a soft top. I'd recommend you give that kind gentleman a prop for his help. Look at his post and click on the happy kitty at the bottom right corner of his post. Props allow users of this forum to know who had been helpful by providing useful info and who is full of it. Good luck with the install, I've done it and it is not hard to do.

I did it, it didn't turn out perfect, but well enough. It wasn't fun, but then spending $500 for a shop to do it isn't fun, either, and there's no guarantee they'll do it perfectly, either.

I'd much rather swap out suspension than do another one. Basically, if having to spend the better part of a typical work day playing with your soft top is worth less than $500 to you, do it. Otherwise, farm it out to someone you trust will do a good job.

Thanks guys will do!
