Please help me identify this hood vent.

I saw this on good win racing website and I want one. Can anyone tell me what brand it is?

[QUOTE=Stealth97;1622690]Mini Cooper pooper scooper[/QUOTE

i checked it out and I believe that’s it. Trying to find the best place to purchase it from. Thanks!

Probably should be mounted further forward, if that is feasible. Check out the pressure distribution maps.

I agree. I just need to find the right one now and the best place to get it.

curly 06-01-2022 08:46 PM

Huh, I’m pretty sure the owner mounted it as far back as possible after referring to said pressure maps.

mx5newbie 06-01-2022 09:13 PM

Can someone tell me what year car to spruce this from to ensure I get the correct one?

curly 06-01-2022 09:28 PM

2002-2008 cooper S. Can be found on FCP euro, popular German car parts site.

You'll want to grind some tabs off to make a flat mating surface

nice! I have to have one.

So I ordered the WRX pooper scooper. Can anyone advise me on how I can install this with out compromising the hood structure as I hear when cutting out the bracing, it makes the hood weak and flimsy.

im hoping I can simply trim the areas on the vent to go over the bracing and keep it in place. Does that sound like an option?

rleete 06-14-2022 08:24 AM

The bracing is going to block a lot of the airflow. Plenty of people have cut it out to install various vents. It won't be a big issue if you don't lean on the hood.

Ok. That makes me feel a little bit better. I don’t an no one else should be on my hood for any reason. As long as it still props up good it shouldn’t be a problem.

i was just reading through your old post when you installed this on your car. Can you tell me how far from the front ledge of the hood you placed this? Also, could you have come a little more forward? If so, how much? Mine should be here tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

Looks to be about even with the headlight covers. It isn't that critical, just eyeball it.

More important that it's completely square to the front of the hood. If it's the least bit crooked, you'll see it.

I was simply wondering if coming forward an inch or two would be ok? Would like mine a little further forward.
