Is the 20g turbo really too big for the miata? I know its large but i got one for free. :cool: The mani is no big deal bc I can make my own. The other down side is its going on a 1.6 so small motor big turbo = no spool? I dono should i just sell it and but a 16g kit?

Sell it. You'll get more for it than a more suited turbo would cost.

On a DSM they spool around 4k rpm in 2nd. Nice turbo for a DSM, something like 400whp with supporting mods and cams.

On a Miata? Depending on what your goals and budget are, it could work. But from what I understand the miata 5spd blows up at around 275whp, so a 20G would be pointlessly big for only 275whp.

A 50 trim or EVOIII16G would be better suited.

LOL yeah it came off of my totled 480awhp talon. Bus i would be 20pis about 4k. It would just be nice because i have it in my hand. Oh well.

20g is made for 2+L motors man a 16g would be more streetable but if you like 2 psi by 3500 or so i think it would take go for it. makes it easier to driv ein the rain etc without all that low end boost. Hell look at markp's t3/4 chinacharger about the same size for a reference on his 2 L

whenever my turbo dies... i'm going bigger. then i predict a thrown rod shortly after if i'm still on a stock bottom end. plus if you plan to use that turbo throw a little dry shot nitrous action on there, presto, spool. its what people who have big turbos do to make them spool. here's a shot of the little hairdryer that i used to spool up.
