Possibly new SR20 swap kit option!

Very cool this is a possibility. The other kit a available is laughably expensive. Might I suggest a different engine? Seeing as the company is in CA, the smog **** state, it would seem silly for them to produce a kit that will never pass smog in their own state.
F20c, 1uzfe, 13b, or renesis? Just throwing engine ideas out that come from cars that are FR setup and stateside. Perhaps a FE3 kit for those of us who can't modify oil pans, hack up and reweld intake manifolds, make engine mounts, and make headers? Would keep the engine in the Mazda family, so it would be useful in classes that require sticking to a Mazda engine.

I'm definitely going with an SR when I build my next Miata but I'll be starting with an NB I think. LS1 swaps are awesome (I'm currently dropping one into my S13) but I'm partial to having an SR powered car around. I've been driving them continuously in various forms since March of '99.
Yep people have been doing them in B15s for about 6 or 7 years now. Travis Burelle down in NOLA (Forced Induction Racing) builds them for customers and some guys up in New England now does them (and recently started doing P11s too). Another guy down in Florida did one in his '99 SE (B14) but that was a one off.

ive done some crazy stuff with a 1.8 and the cost per HP is pretty insane. i was just under 10k for my built 2.0 motor and even then i was only looking at 400whp. probably could have made more
an SR with bolt ons, bigger turbo, and cams can handle 400whp. ive even heard of stock block SR's putting down 500whp.

Ok. I've never been in a or even heard the sound of a car with a turbo RB engine before. Serious possibly noobish question:
Why?
Why bother swapping in a cast iron anything, as opposed to just a BP with forged internals? Is it because RBs are extremely cheap (as compared to LSx/5.0) swaps? Is it because they sound incredibly awesome or something (this I can understand)? Or is it maybe for RB love? Not asking this to talk you out of anything. Serious question is serious.
