Post your Iphone Dynolicious results...
Dyno can vary one from another, brand to brand... I wonder if this is an good platform to have a good comparison of our miatas.
I should be hooking up mine for a test soon as Typhoon Cyclone NURI get out of Hong Kong. http://dynolicious.com/ http://hk.youtube.com/results?search...s&search_type= |
Very interesting video there:
http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=0-DFbJQbeSY I have an iphone 3g with the dynolicious software. My Beat down 1.6L that had cops, megasquirt, no afm, FM turbo exhaust, etc... ran I think a 17.5 launching from a stop light in light traffic. i forgot the mph. I'll rerun it one of these days and post my results. No HP because i don't know the cars weight. It will be fun to see a plot of my NA 1.6L vs. my new 1.8L turbo that im swapping in. |
Quick!!!! Send and receive MMS pictures from someone!!! ! OOh wait.. Shit!

So, I tried out this app last night, I tried fucking around with the configuration over 8 passes, twice the app got no data, once it started the run while I was still sitting at the tree, and it was 5-8 tenths off the slip.
Seems like a POS so far, but I am still going to try to get some measurements on rollout and such and plug them in, instead of guessing. iPhone said 17.0 @ 84mph, Slip said 16.2@84mph. Stock. |
The 17.0 actually sounds more accurate than a 16.4 on a stock car.

No A/C no P/S, just a rollbar, suspension and wheels/tires. First time out ever to the drags. I highly doubt the timing was off. My times were mostly around 16.5. |

I haven't run dynolicoius on my Miata yet, but I found it to be pretty inaccurate on my M45... It was showing 0-60 in the high 7's when Infiniti claims mid to high 5's. I will try it out in my Miata when I get a chance.

scan those slip cause i've only got a 17.1 as the best time my 1.6 put down stock. look around the internet most stock miatas only run around 17's maybe a 16.5 for a 01'

im going to bring this back from the dead. Ive had this on my iphone for a while now. I used it on my last NA and I got 111 hp which seemed about right on the money with a decked head, supertech valve springs, 02 bottom end, catless exhaust and coldside intake.
I just did this on my 04 MSM with: FM Intake kit with 02 modifier Custom 3 inch exhaust 27x8 cxracing intercooler boost turned up to 10psi http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...4/photo-79.jpg Made 206 hp |
I still need to get Dynolicious, but using pocket dyno I got:
0-60: 7.49 1/8th: 10.41 @ 70.29mph 108whp (seems a little high) I really want to see what it says once I'm boosted. |
I had Dynolicious until i realized Revlite was free. Doesn't have all the features but you can supposedly plug your phone into an OBDII car and read out a ton of shit. Someone with a 96+ check it out!

a proper weight is needed to make accurate tests even 1/4 mile. I've found it to be very accurate as long as the weight is right. don't forget to add your own fat ass to that number. I haven't had a chance to run it in my miata yet, but have tested it at a drag strip along side the first generation g-tech and both were within 1/10th of a second. the g-tech pro however would never get close.
|
yeah i added my 109 pound fatass self in the equation lol
|
What is the actual accuracy of the Iphone accelerometer? I wouldn't think that the iphone would need particularly accurate readings of how much g force it is being subjected to so much as the ability to detect "phone is moving or not" and "phone experiencing warranty voiding levels of acceleration."
|
that's the beauty of apple my friend. they allways plan ahead. if you get all geeky with the iphone and ipod touch there are all kinds of hardware devices that aren't used yet. when you do download the application you have to calibrate it. the accelerometer is used mostly for games, but I've found it to be pretty accurate.
