Running MS2 and building an Exocet

Can I just pull and plug the holes for all the parts I marked or are they still used with a standalone for anything???

Interesting thread. I'm running full standalone on my 99 and I'd like to clean up my engine bay/ remove anything that's unnecessary.

Also interested for my exocet. I've removed everything, and still have the sensors hooked up. Still running the OEM ECU and from time to time get a P0300 code (random misfire). Car runs perfect, no issues. (never got the code before removing the evap system) I have replaced everything that would be the issue. Then came across this thread where Keith talks about a missing canister would cause a P0300:

The amount of people building Exocets will all stock/oem parts is still astounding to me.

Link to the push-on to AN-6 adapters.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-644113/overview/

Earls and Russell make them. I believe Russell being the preferred as it uses a solid threaded attachment vs Earls using the plastic-clip still. 99% sure the Miata is 5/16" fuel hard-line. Double-check that before ordering.

Did you ever toss the parts you took off on a scale?

This is how it should be, but I swear I read that the crap mounted on the passengers side wheel well in a 99-00 serves a purpose for more than just nonsense emissions. Can somebody please shed light on that?

It is a damper. There is another one one the end of the rail. You can see the rail mounted one in Jeff's pic. They are there to keep down pressure fluctuations in the rail, which can be unpredictable and oscilatory pressure waves.

Vlad pulled the one from his wheel well and left the one on his rail. This was for the 2001, I believe. He saw no adverse effects.

The use of the dampers was part of at least one of the patents filed when the returnless systems were developed.
