Prosport Evo boost gauge issues
 

I'm having trouble wiring the prosport evo boost gauge into my MSM. First off I have to say the instructions are just straight confusing.

Gauge lights up and numbers are showing, but they're in correct.

At power up, it shows +18psi. At idle and driving it shows constant +23psi.

I have the white wire on the boost sender connected to the green wire on the boost gauge.

The boost sender is currently not grounded. When the boost sender IS grounded, the gauge shows "- - -" meaning the boost sender has stop working.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I've tried searching, but there's not a common write up for an electrical boost gauge wiring diagram.

Based on those instructions, the
[sender]white -> [gauge]green looks correct
You also must have both +12v and ground hooked up on the sender and the gauge.

Just wire up the sender to +12v, ground, and the green wire on the gauge
for the gauge, hook up +12v to red & white, black to ground, and the green from the sender. Just twist them onto any +12v source, use the cig lighter or something easy. Test it out first this way. If it works, then you'll know something is wrong with your wiring and you can troubleshoot from there.
Worry about the daytime/nighttime backlighting color options later, once you confirm the actual gauge is working properly.

So i did a little more digging,
Boost gauge side
white: to a constant power source
red: to ignition
Orange: leave alone for now
Green: to white sender
black:ground

Sender side
Red: to ignition
White:green
black:ground

If sender ground is not connected to ground, +15psi is shown
If sender is connected to ground, --- is shown

Is there something wrong with the sender?

Sounds possible. Call up ProSport and see if an RMA is in order.

It's pretty possible... Prosport electronic senders aren't exactly known for being robust. Seems if they aren't DOA, they tend to last about 14 months, conveniently just after the warranty runs out.

I just ripped a Prosport Premium boost gauge out of a car that had a failed sender.

Fixed. Turns out the sender was dead.
