Default what oil grade???

are you guys running in your turboed miatas...???

anyone run a small percentage of that lucas oil stuff at napa?

engine is still spewing oil...but only whenever i'm boosting going 100... hehe... from like 1-3rd gear i can be on it ALL the way and nothing...but once i hit like 90-100 it's ovaaa... i'll be having smoke coming in from the vents and everything...

this just happened today when i was passing a new vette on the way home from my econ final...:gay: so i'll be outside cleaning the oild off my hood and engine.

i thought at first it was the rings, but had her compression checked and everyything was aok...maybe thinking it's a valve seal? hmm.... very little smoke coming out of exhaust, and when it does it's only under like full boost.

the weird thing is this never did it over winter time... only now when it starteed to get really warm out.

stop pressurizing your crankcase.

okay i'll get right on that... i'm not running the breather on the head to the intake, and i did for a little time... but i really don't want to ruin my turbo because of oil shootin in there, i'd rather clean it up everytime then pay for a new turbo, although...i could upgrade to bad i have no idea what other turbos would fit on my greddy e. manifold. ... what else can i do to cut down on crankcase pressure....

the reason you spewed oil is because your crankcase was pressurized, if you ran a line to just before the turbo, it would not do that. besides a little oil in the intake wont hurt the turbine.

I also suggest putting the breather line back into the intake as it will help pull the oil from the turbo and add vacuum (1-2~hg.) back in the crankcase during boost; which helps the rings seal better.

Crankcase is pressurizing like they said. Better PCV, filter on other valve cover nipple or put an inline filter between the valve cover and other nipple.

You should have seen the smoke show my last track event when cylinder 4 piston let go. Crankcase pressurized big time, blew out the dipstick, spewed oil all over the header, caught fire. We got it out within a few seconds but it was a stressful few seconds.

I hope you did better on your econ final than you are doing at turboing your miata.

Not sure if you are aware of the following:
-Oil is flamable
-Turbo manifolds are HOT
-Fire will ruin you miata
-A BBQ'd miata will make you cry

Where is the oil coming from? You might want to lay off on the boost until you figure that out.

So you'd rather clean up oil from all over the engine bay than seriously address the problem?

Buy a genuine MAZDA PVC Valve from a 323GTX. Don't buy the **** NAPA sells, the first Fram I put in my car would allow me to blow through in both directions. The actual Mazda part works fine.

A tiny bit of oil in the intake isn't going to be the end of the world. Too much will start to decrease the octane of your fuel and cause ping. But I suspect your car will burn long before ping kills the engine.

Seriously dude, fix this **** before something bad happens. Or at least buy a fire extinguisher.

The places where oil can eject from the engine crankcase are around the exhaust, so you better do something about it before the car catches fire and you're in a place without an extinguisher. After my track fire, I now have a 1 lb bottle bolted in the trunk.

trueee i like all of your guys advice...

although i've already done mostly everything that you guys have told me to do. and still, just not sure... i was thinking of installing a catch can... i am making compression, so i don't think the rings are the problem...

1. Get 323 GTX PCV valve from your local Mazda dealer or http://www.finishlineperformance.com/

2. Reconnect hose from the 'other nipple' on the exhaust side of the cam cover to the intake pipe before the turbo

Do that and get back to us if there is still an issue

hint: there won't be
