R12 convert to R134 freon??
sup everyone,
I have a 1990 mazda miata and i was wondering if anyone convert their freon to R134. how? and what do i need to convert it to R134? and where can i get the parts? thank you |
Use Freeze 12 in the R12 system. Works much better than R134a, and you don't need to screw with the valves.

+1 for Freeze12. Used it in many a car. Works like a champ.

I can't tell you where to find the part as I live in the UK, but I got my '93 Miata converted from R12 to R134a about 6 months ago.
The condenser was replaced and adapters have been installed to be compatible with the new gas fittings (so that R134a service equipment can plug into the AC system) Overall it works quite well, although the temperatures don't go as low as they used to (this may only matter when sitting in traffic, as it gets cooler at speed). |
when i use freeze 12 i dont have to convert anything
just recharge it like is a regular R12 rite! thank you |

Freeze 12 has worked well for me too, although I have never used it in a Miata.
Whatever you do, dont put R134 in a R12 Miata system. That sucks balls. I have owned numerous R134 converted Miatas and none of them cool worth a shit! |
I have Freeze12 running through my a/c system too with no complaints. Its not freezing cold, but its way better than not working at all.

And then there is always bootlegged R-12 out there if you look hard enough.
