Rear end gears?
Has anyone heard of changing rear end gears? (correct me if I'm wrong) but in 1.6 Miata's the gear ratio is 4:30. Does anyone know about 5:30 gears? I thought I saw them in a SCCA mag but I can't find it anymore. I think IRS makes some but I don't know how to get ahold of them.

Do you plan to install a turbo, if so, I would think that you would want lower gears, when you have the power, you really do not have to worry about torque multiplication. Also, if this is going to be a DD, those gears will drive you nuts. I would aim to get a 1.8 dif and try and get the 3.9 gears. That is my plan, it will drop the revs down on the freeway, and make the gears last a little longer. That is what I want in my DD turbo car, Maybe it is just me.

That was the plan at first. But I had to sell my kit. And I was just looking for a little more get up for drivin around and maybe a little local SCCA action. There are no freeways where I live. The fastest posted speed limit around here is 50. plus it 's not gonna be a daily driver anymore.
