Default Car stalling out when clutch is released in neutral when cold.

If it's cold (The temperature, not the engine), as in less than 40, 45ish degrees, the car starts just fine in the cold, but if I come off the clutch (while in neutral) it will die. The only way to keep it alive is to stay on the clutch for, say, 15 or 20 seconds, come off of it slowly, and hopefully it will stay alive. Today, it was 30 degrees when I set off and it took 4 attempts to start it. It's never been that bad.

Also, if I hit the gas at all, it'll die out.

Keep in mind this is only when the temperature outside is cold. If it's above 50ish degrees I have no problems starting it. Starts right up, and I can get going, rev it, come off the clutch, whatever I want.

Thoughts? I'm thinking that I'm running very, very lean at startup. It would explain why it dies when it gets more air going to it... When I come off the clutch, does something happen with the ICV that causes it to get more air or something?

What is your wideband reading? I would very much suspect you need to adjust your warmup enrichments. After start enrichments could also be suspect.

Warmup settings were fine - turned out that the required fuel calculator was set to 8 clylinders. Except for idle, AFRs were 100% spot on.

This happens to me also- well the clutch part anyway. I always thought it was because the trans fluid was thick from the cold and the resistance stalled the cold engine.

I fixed my tune and richened up idle. Idle at around stoich and now it's perfect. MX5autoxer, try richening up a bit.

EDIT: Oh, and it was at 4 cyl mode, I fucked up my settings while trying to change the required fuel calculator.
