rear view mirror relocation

Has anyone relocated the rear view mirror to say on the dash?
I have a hard dog hard core roll bar and its annoying to look out the back to see part of in the mirror.

Don't think the placement will be much better. Give and take relationship unless you have a cage and can get the wideview mirror. You get used to it over time.
I've given up even trying to look out the back anymore with this setup. ;)

In an effort not only to avoid seeing the roll bar, but also to get the mirror our of my sight line (placement put the mirror just inside the right fender line), I used this:

You can see the results here:

The biggest hazard has been pickup trucks at night. Their headlights are on the same plane as the mirror. So when an F-250 is sitting being me at a light, it can be a little problematic.

I got a stupid question related to this - how do you get the mirror bracket off the glass?

hahaha nice. No danger to glass?

One of two ways.

Option-1, with a small allen wrench to loosen/remove the set screw, remove the mirror, then use a heat gun to soften the epoxy holding the mount in place, remove with a putty knife.

Option-2, have Hustler stare at it until it drops from sheer terror...

Nice. Gotta get a heat gun.

You think a hair dryer gets hot enough? Every time I use a heat gun, I melt something I didn't intend to. (collateral damage)

Hair dryer should be sufficient if you keep the mirror attached and use it for leverage. That glue is impressive stuff though. Won't hurt to try.

I would love a dash-mounted auto-dimming mirror.
