Removing hood spacers OEM length and thread style

My 95 is getting the hideous hood spacers removed, can anyone tell me the oem length of the bolts that hold the hood to hinges. What type of thread do I need?

Braineack 12-11-2012 09:48 AM

you need (4) 12mm nuts.

Jdilla 12-11-2012 09:58 AM

So your saying that's how long the bolt needs to be? I might just take the hood off and drive up into town and match up it up.

Braineack 12-11-2012 10:05 AM

You dont need bolts; your hood has studs in them, you need nuts to secure them to the brackets.

Ohhhh..... ok, thanks man.

Braineack 12-11-2012 10:09 AM

so just remove your washers and resecure the hood.

Someone put some really long hexagonal nuts on it, I was thinking that the previous owner did something to extend the distance between the hood and hinge. Sorry to be a newb.

+1 prop for coming around to the sane side

pray he didn't alter those studs, but once you remove the hood from the hinge brackets, you should be able to see how they're bolted to the hood.

Then burn them.

Don't burn them. Keep them for some ninja car modifications. Sneak over to your friends house and give his hood a sick stance one night.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm going to put them on my friends rx7.
