Yes I've been reading about a month straight actually. I will wind up having to do 3 base and 5 or 6 clear. 3 after shooting the red then retape to shoot the silver and 2 or 3 more on top of them to blend the clear in. With lots of sanding between clear coats, I'm expecting a pretty damn nice shine.

I never sanded in between the clear coats. The only reason for sanding in between would be because of imperfections or stripes.
I guess if you wanted to shoot a coat and then come back later on to shoot another, then light scuffing would be desireable.

From what I have been reading , sanding between clear coats, in addition to removing any imperfections brings out a much better looking job. That is what they do on show cars as well, so the paint guys tell me.

Probably most desireable - YES
I spent most of my time on the prep work though. When I was finished with the clear, then I wet sanded it down with 1200 and 1600. Finished it off with FINESSE IT II and a variable speed compound machine. Came out great --- But I'm sure it was far from perfect.
Have a large compressor and a HVLP gun. Make sure that you are not condensating your spray tip -- Any moisture will screw the job...

While I love that car, I don't think the color works on the na very well.
