ME221 Mx5 Na 1995 Wont Start
Long Story Short Drove my Mx5 Into my Garage and parked it.
Done the build with rx8 injectors, TD04, fmic, IAT, ME221, Avcr boost Controller and now the car wont Start there is no spark at the leads.
If I plug in the old ECU to start the car it fires up and cuts out due to the MAF delete which doesnt bother me I know everything in Car is good but whats up with the ECU its brand New ??

Jumping the F/P and ground is a great way to temporarily test the fuel pump, but should not be left in that configuration permanently.
Just for a reference when I built my first MS1 10 years ago, it could control the fuel pump perfectly. There is absolutely no reason why a modern day ECU should not be controlling the fuel pump.

This is what I was told to do by ME I know its very dangerous and can be heard running all the time if you go onto the ME website_support and go to ME221 hardware install guide 8995 it explains it in the manual to do exactly this.
Any other ideas For this ? Want the Car to be safe too it will be my daily.

its only dangerous if you run into a tree, really.
If your ECU cant activate a fuel pump, it shouldn't be installed in your car. I remember these guys could barely wrap their heads around the DIYPNP and then they go and developed this gem. I honestly feel bad for ME221 and FM221 users.

I got one for one of my customers - for very good price.
It was a bad experience and all I found out is that the product was not ready to sell, many bugs, in the fw, software and labeling...

On a different note, your last post was back in August of last year. Any updates on the ME221 you tuned since then? Customer switch to something better? Or still fighting with it.

Couldn't tell the sarcasm from here - if there was any.
The ECU had a missing component the support ask me to add...
The software had bugs and unfinished functions.
It cost the customer more time and money then needed.
On the dyno the ecu got totally rested once - good thing I had a tune file saved.
For now he does use it and it is ok... (with beta fw and the missing component added)

I'm interested to see what FM says about the ground issue. If they sell that system and something happens, wouldn't they have some liability? I also can't see them selling something like that since it's unsafe at some level?
Maybe I'm just too optimistic...
