Reroute longevity-GM hose
 

I just installed my built motor and while it was out installed my reroute using the Kia water neck...custom spacer... & the GM long hose.

My question is what kind of wear are you guys seeing on this hose? it was a tight squeeze and was rubbing on the sheet metal towards the back of the engine bay. I protected mine with some more rubber wrapped around the hose, but long term I think this may be an issue. How do you guys deal with the tight squeze and rubbing issues?

I use small pieces of rubber or silicone to sandwich between the metal/rubbing area and coolant hose, then some black zipties to secure the pieces if needed.

I've had mine for at least 3 years now, zero issues. I've had TSE's SS clutch line rubbing on it, a leaking CAS in the back, and overheated a couple times due to boiling water (royal purple's "water wetter" sucks).

Zero issues, no sign of needing replacement.

I ran one for several years without an issue but replaced it recently when I noticed some wear on it. Just keep an eye on the back of the motor and by the alternator/intake manifold support. That was the 2 places I saw that it was rubbing a bit. I also noticed there are 2 different versions (one purchased from Advance Auto and one from Autozone) that are slightly different. The autozone verson seemed to be a better fit.

Same as others here, rubber with zip ties to hold it in place. It has worked great since day 1, 6 months or so ago.

FWIW I cut a 6-7" piece out of the middle of the hose then inserted a hard pipe (from "Lowes Racing Supply") into that section. Then I used an insulated pipe hanger bolted to a strap made from aluminum strap stock that was then bolted to an available 10mm bolt on the intake manifold. This keeps the hose from flopping around and rubbing on things that it shouldn't. It's been in place for over a year without any visible signs of distress.
