Reusing roll bar bolts and locking nuts?
how do you guys feel about reusing the bolts and locking nuts? Im buying a used bar today with all the hardware, plates and bolts etc. bethania garage told me its not good to reuse them because they lose their locking capability once used. What do you guys think? would it be ok to just use some red loctite and tq them down good?

Bolts are probably good, but why reuse nuts that are probably much less than $1 a piece? You can probably get all new hardware for under $20. I typically reuse bolts though.

I would just buy new locking nuts. The nylon does stop working generally after each use. They are cheap, and you have the bolts to know how many/what size you need. You're buying it to be safe right?

get some fresh nuts and all should be good

While I would personally buy new nuts for the reasons posted above, there is nothing wrong with reusing the old ones with a little locktite. It may be a pain to get them off, but it isn't unsafe.

I bought all new grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers when I did mine. Didn't cost me more then $20. Better be safe then sorry
