Default My first Miata! Turbo'd!!! HAHA! :) First Mazda

Hey guys from pickens this my first post as a miata owner. I traded my 04 f150 for it plus got a lot of cash, this miata is mint and extremely fast. I have only driven the car two hours and know it has an aem wideband that get's a little too rich under heavy boost. I have a usb cable coming from passenger side which is most likely a tuning device. I'm going to trace it to the ecu in hopes that it has megasquirt. The car is running on 9-10psi, on a stock block and has been running like that for a long time. I have build pics and dates to verify.

going out with my friend and his rx7 tomorrow will post pics.

Too rich as in hitting 10 on the wideband then staying there for a minute. Which you can see black smoke dump out the back=unburned or partially burned fuel. I'm going to to try to switch the plugs out and see if the car can keep up with the fuel. As far as turbo, I have not even looked. I would say a 16g, looks very similiar to my s16g I had on my eclipse.

Let's have some more pics... I see what could be a hard dog bar in there. Pics of engine bay or its just a cute girl car, lol.

Needs the front under cover, for proper air flow through radiator/intercooler.

As for it running rich, I cleaned my maf off. Disconnected the battery, cleaned air filter hooked everything back up and now the car absolutely blows the tires off. It's scary fast and can't keep traction.

So far I have a tuning USB cable, have an AEM wideband, MBC, all custom intake and exhaust piping, it has a cut-out for the exhaust that is on a lever system. It has custom shift lights that activate @ 7500rpm mounted in the pillar pod. Have no clue about the turbo or anything else. Just kind of learning about the car as I go.

Yea the engine bay is pretty nasty... I have not even attempted to give it a good bath. And yes it's very very fast, the engine bay does not do the performance apect of the car justice.

Very very fast? What does it run in the 1/4 with a compressor that tiny? I'm willing to bet that it doesn't run faster than 14's.

The exterior of your car looks great. That turbo setup sort of looks like HIV. Small turbo compressor is small. Horrible welding is horrible. 6 puck clutch sounds like XTD ebay special.

Like hey, it's working so that's great... but I'd be curious what type of engine management that has.

Well, it still has the MAF, so whatever ems it has, I expect it to be bad...

What's the most air you can put through the stock MAF? I know the greddy kit kept it, but that one was for like 6-7psi right? I would think much more and it would become a huge restriction.
