i think you'll have to go for the m2 style, i think the main difference is it doesn't incoporate a harness bar

turbopezz 10-24-2006 05:04 PM

ok a m2 hardcore bar or a boss frog.also do all hardcore m2 bars come with harness tabs.moss doesnt list that.

chuckerants 10-24-2006 05:14 PM

Call and ask Bethania. They do answer your calls.

Also, harness tabs are extra on the Hard Dog RBs.

jayc72 10-24-2006 05:46 PM

I'm pretty sure all the M2 Hardcore bars come with tabs. If not I think they are $35. I'd give Tom a call and ask him specifically about the top on your car if it is aftermarket.

if its a zipped rear glass...wierd, what top is that? either way you should have to get a M2 bar...I have a zipperless robins glass window and I have the HDM2sport bar.

The HD M2 Sport bar will fit with the glass. I got the harness tabs at the same time, and the vinyl covered bar padding.

ditto.

you're gonna kick yourself in the ass about this.

i have an m2 hcdd with tabs. i put in a mint m2 top and frame last year for $300. glass with defroster.

soflarick 10-30-2006 08:28 AM

Why do people put M2 tops in their M1's?

I didn't know the DD model would still fit the glass window. That is neat.

kung fu jesus 10-30-2006 08:49 AM

i put the m2 top on for a few reasons:

first, you get a glass rear window that will lay flat on the rear shelf when the top is down.

second, stretching a new top over a frame takes a lot longer and is a farking PITA.

third, it looks better than an m1 top. the 'tailoring' at the back is a little tighter looking.

fouth, it's a bit cheaper if you know what you're looking for and is P'n'P with the M1s.

the M2 HDHCDD will fit with an m2 top. the m1 DD with a harness BAR will not.

I had read about the M2 tops, but never thought about doing it. I recently replaced the original top, top with tinted plastic window, rain rails and optional headliner kit was $400, and installation was $300. Maybe next time I'll investigate the M2 option since my rollbar will handle it.
