just thinking of putting in a 13b and carbing it.

motor makes good power.tranny is stronger.plus i can get a whole swap for$200.00

maybe 13b twin turbo will be more sensible.

it can be done, i've seen a few swaps over on "the net" but unless you've got crazy goals in mind, both the 1.6 and 1.8 are really great starting points

Really though, if you want a rotary, get an RX7. Then you can drive it for a while and swap in a SBC.:D

While I would say not more sensible. I would go ahead and get it done. for $200 dollars to have the engine put it (assuming cost of motor included) that's great :eek: . Which is to say you'll find more after market support for the motor. Yeah it's rotary, which means not getting in serviced in the normal places. But because of that there will be a lot more focues technical knowledge and resources. You won't have to dig through posts about style bars and chrome rings and polished valve covers to find what you want to know.

13b while in it's stock condition doesn't make much, it does make more than the miata and has gone farther I'd say than a 1.6 certainly has.

I was about to say, if you want a rotary, get an rx7.

Then, if you want an RX7 fo reals get an LS1/T56. :D

Actually you're better off with an auto, much less effort, the clutch hydraulics are a bitch. Been there, done that. I suppose on the T56 with a hydraulic TO bearing it's probably not so bad, just a matter of matching up the master bore to the slave...

Well, that depends on what you want the car for. Autos are great for drag racing, but pretty much suck with any other form of motorsport. You have to buy an upgraded clutch master and make a custom clutch line, but it's not that difiicult to do either.

Truth be told though, if i was going to build a daily cruiser, i'd put the auto in. the 4L60E is a damn good transmission. :)

Actually you'd want to look at the bore size of the stock and the after. The wildwood 3/4 would work fine but I think the stock would as well.
As far as lines ou don't need anything custom, you make a line with an aeroquip braided hose and their fittings.
But hey, what do I know. i've only built one.

Ah, missed the "been there done that" part in your previous post. That's cool that you've done the swap. As for the clutch master, i'm just going off of conventional forum wisdom (for what that's worth, heh.)

And yeah, by "custom clutchline" i didn't mean anything more than what you said. You just can't use either stock line (for obvious reasons).

See if you can dig up some pics, i'd be interested to see them. :) You did an FD or an FC?
