Default 929 AFM?

Has anyone tried one on a Miata? It looks to be the same unit as the RX7 AFM but I'm assuming that it's tweaked slightly.

Why bother?

Because I'd rather not spend the big bucks for megasquirt on a non turbo car. If the max gains are going to be 5 or 6 hp on a naturally aspirated 1.8 an inexpensive AFM should achieve the same results as MS. And I'm not aware of anyone near me in Pittsburgh that's a MS wiz to help with tuning.

Unless you swapped an 1.8 into your 1.6 car, you shouldn't even bother with an AFM, much less one from another car.

I already have a 1.8 swap in the 91 track car. Yeah, I wouldn't bother with a 1.6, I don't think there is anything to be gained.

So with all the time and tinkering you already wasted trying to get this FAIL AND AIDZ to work on your car and provide like .0005 hp you could have easily just bought MS and gained more like 10-15hp (or more than 5) and more importantly you'd see gains everywhere which matters a whole log.

You sound like some of the stubborn ignorant n00bs: "I don't know how to tune it so I'll just avoid it".

Good luck

I think MS is a great option but I've read of people who done both and said the results are pretty much the same on an 1.8. MS is always a future option.

Who says they got the same results from an AFM as converting to speed density with megasquirt? because whoever said that obviously doesnt know anything about tuning, nor did they have the sense to find a competent tuner.

IIRC it was Pat McCartin. On second thought maybe it's worth ignoring.
