Rusty rotors

My Miata is a weekend toy, not a DD. As a result, it sits during the week. In this time, the rotors get a slight orange haze of rust on the surface. Naturally, it wears off after the first couple of times I hit the brakes, but it's annoying to have to brake to clear them, and then I have to clean off the wheels, or it makes them look like hell.

Is there a way to prevent this? Is is just something I have to learn to deal with?

4 Options:

1. Reinforced Carbon
2. Carbon Ceramic
3. Composite Ceramic
4. Live with it

Option 5-
Drive the car more

Sew up some pink fluffy wheelcovers and put those on.

Maybe keep the car in a climate controlled garage? Maybe spray wd-40 on them if you know it'll sit for a while?

Thanks for the options. Looked at the carbon/ceramic ones, and for the price I'll just live with it.

Just oil up the rotors between drives. No rust. No problem.

I had a guy ask me if it was ok on his new NC, he was ready to call a tow truck in case i said his brakes would fail. And this is in Oregon, we get a lot of rain and some serious rust on our rotors.

It always seems like when I get in-grown hairs, I get like 4 at a time. It's such a painful process. I like when I can man up and fight the pain, and make it squirt out white shit.

My car is used only for track, it doesn't even have rego so it can sit for months between events. The rust is no problem.
