Default ABS Gear Rings

I got my 94-95 axles in the mail on Friday but never took a look at them. They dont seem to have the ABS gear on them...but it looks like one can be threaded on....any chance anyone knows off hand that the 1.6 ones will still fit?

You got a caliper with which to measure?

I seem to recall they do interchange, but don't hold me to that.

You've been to hell and back with that diff. swap, huh? Mine went smooth as heck until I started driving it and noticed the gear whine

As long as you are sure that you have abs axles, then the 1.6 abs ring gear will fit. BUT, if it's not an abs axle (even though it was sold to you that way), it will not fit unless you plan on doing some machine work. I had a hell of a time locating two piece abs axles so I just went without abs for awhile until I found one. Funny, that they would take the time to remove the abs ring from the axle.

You've known my build from the start Brian....does anything ever go according to plan.

It's no biggie, I'm sure they fit, but it's just another piece to the puzzle, but I cant really measure them untill I pull one axle off the car now.

Tom, It looks like it's threaded for the ABS...and I had them confirm it was....dunno why the gears weren't on them. Glad to know they'll fit, I was sure the only difference in the axles was the length, but not the diameter.

Attached is where the threaded part is...doesn't seem like Akaryrye's have them:

more power or less weight, they both do the same thing

btw, even with my shitty 1.6 brakes, i've only accidentally locked em up once.

Yeah, I can modulate it enough so it never engages, but I'm not going to rip it all apart. One day maybe, but not anytime soon, I still street the car so it's always safe to have incase a big stupid deer wants to play chicken at night.

Yours are lacking the threaded part I'm speaking about. I've circled it in red where it was threaded to accept the ABS gear.

I havent picked it up yet....I think they said under $15....I'll pick it up at lunch tomorrow. When that's done I have all the components!!! LSD came today...which arrived in a Cusco box, so now I want to determine if I didn't end up with an even better deal.
