Default AFM or MAF placement

Can you guys clarify where the proper placement of the AMF or MAF should be? Is it between the compressor inlet and air filter? Or is it between the throttle body and intercooler. And why. Thanks!! The car in reference is a 1.8l 02.

Most are pre-boost (SC or turbo).... however, the only exception was the BRP turbo, that put the MAS post IC.....
