School me on Autokonexion Widebody.fastback..

Hi Guys

I am getting near to ordering some parts from autokonexion after having fallen in love with this...

http://www.autokonexion.com/product_...4u4q0gjslkk6v3

for my sunday fang/track day car....

actually not sure if that picture link will work... It's the red fastback with widebody kit on thier website.....

As I am shiping 3/4 of the way around the world, I need to know a few things and figure you guys can help, without bugging the autokonexion guys just yet...

Are these 17" wheels.... ?

Does anybody know the offset required for this fitment (looks great).

Does anybody know the width of these wheels....

for's and against's and gotcha's of this setup, wheels, kit, fitting issues, top issues.........

These are quite specific questions but I figure this car is probably reasonably well known to some of you....

cheers
mark

I'm guessing you're in new zealand?

Just a heads up... the link you sent is only for the fastback, it doesn't include the widebody parts. While I don't have any personal experience with the car, I've seen a few flared miatas with 0 offset wheels that look quite similarly stanced. see here:

Hi Crono, thank you for the info. Being so far away and having NO after market suppliers or builders makes getting this info extremely difficult. But it is such a fantastic looking car I am really keen to build this project. OF course it won't be exactly the same, maybe a different colour ;)

FYI- the page I linked is the fastback page but the red car pictured has the fast back and widebody kit. .....IF i have my link correct..

So 0 offset wheels is the answer with these wider gaurds?

Am I right in thinking these are 17" wheels.....Not sure I want to go there with the weight etc...

Cheers
Mark.

funny... i was just browsing craigslist and came across this:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...846762582.html

Not sure if they just stole that image, but if they're actually using 513's it looks like they're only available in 15 or 16.

Saw that fastback on a buddy's car, fit was complete rubbish.

That red car has their wide body and fastback as others have already said. That car is fitted with 18" wheels. They are xxr 521, I believe the size in back is 18x10 +25 w/ 285/30/18 and the fronts are like 18x8.5 +25 w/ 225/35/18.

The car is highly modified with a rotary swap and v mount radiator setup. I am unsure if any of the suspension pickup points where modified.

Many users of the fastback have reported subpar fitment and squeaky windows. I would highly recommend professional fitting of both the fastback and the widebody if this is for a street car. These parts were mostly designed for track cars. They will physically fit on the car just fine, but if you want an OEM type fit and finish have funds set aside for a bodyshop.

Whew, that is some WIDE freaking wheels. Not sure if my 6-8 PSI turbo 1600 is going to be able to effectively push those.....

Bugger, I may have to reconsider the wide kit. Not only will the additonal weight of the wheels be an issue, the price of those wheels or similar would be $5-6,000.00 down here in our far flung land. Almost twice the cars value!

Stink.

Anyway, thanks guys, I appreciate the replies to this thread. Much better to have found out ahead of time!!!
