Color over safety any day!

The fake ones will say "fake" on the back.

Me too, prefer safty over color anyday but isn't Takata one of the best harness brand out there? I mean if I can get 2 sets for 1/2 the price of new ones then, why not!

Why not? Because they're fake.

Are Takatas FIA approved? Look for the homologation tags.

because you can get something cheaper that works just as well. And if you race FIA homologated parts are set to expire. Also the seat belts in my 240sx were made by Takata, whats the big deal?

If you're just going to have a break down if you don't get green, get black Willans and green pads.

Real ones are FIA approved but it's not my main concern because I'm not looking forward to compete in any event. It's just in case that if I need to have it for track fun and like I said green would look nice with the seats I have.

Good to know that you value looks over safety. Be sure to tell any instructor who offers to ride with you that your harnesses are eBay fakes with no certifications at all - I'm sure they'll be chomping at the bit to ride in your car.

They're goddamn seatbelts, dude. You don't buy cheap, fake seatbelts. Get a set of used SFI-rated G-Force camlocks and shelve the JDM "BUT I LIKE GREEN" crap.

Whoops. Sorry, man. I mis-read what you wrote as you not caring about the FIA ratings, only about the harness color.

You should be able to spot fakes by their price and lack of homologation tags. Let me snap photos of my Willans and Schroth tags.

You have the info you need... you're just not listening. There's NO definitive way to tell if they're fakes or not. Anyone going to the trouble to make fake belts could just as easily make fake FIA/SFI tags too.

Bottom Line...

**** THE COLOR BUY GOOD BELTS FROM A KNOWN DEALER IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. It's really that simple.

P.S. anyone who pays $440 for USED belts need to send me money because they have wayyyyy too much.

True, but the locations and such would probably be different (or at least how they attach). The Chinese are good, but not that good.

To tell you the truth, we don't care much. Because if you are hell bent on form>function then we may not have to read your posts much longer. Not trying to be mean, just putting things in perspective...

Well since it is so important to kill yourself, I found this for you. The first damn picture on google when I searched for "fake takata harness". Looks like the most obvious difference.

PS, good luck being dead.
