Second Annual Miataturbo NE Dyno Day!!!

Trying to gauge interest in an early spring dyno day for us guys to test out the mods we've done to our cars during the winter. I know it's early, but gotta start planning early. (And yes, I have permission from the wife who just delivered....which is why I married her :) )

Shooting for a Saturday in late March/early April. And from lessons learned from the last dyno day some changes to the schedule.

1) Dyno is in Delaware. Website here: http://www.aca-performance.com/default.htm They were really nice to us last time and it was $60 for 4-5pulls with time to tweak inbetween. They were pretty loose about the number of pulls so it was like a mini-tuning session. We should not abuse this and wear out our welcome, but if enough cars come, I'm pretty sure they'll probably cut the price but I'd need firm commitments. This time we will start dyno'ing at 8am regardless of who's there b/c last time we ran late with only 6 cars (well, not including the one 8 second mustang that squeezed in). If enough people are interested (more than 10), I would also like to keep this an all miataturbo affair for the dyno time, not b/c I don't welcome the company (people are welcome to come), but once we get over 10 or so, we're going to start running out of time to do other fun stuff unless we just sit at the dyno all day.

2) This time we are just ordering pizza to the dyno so we have more time for more fun stuff instead of wasting time getting to the restaurant and eating there.

3) After dyno time, we have a choice between going to a nearby dragstrip in the northernmost part of Maryland (that also has race fuel :bigtu: ) assuming that there are no events there at the same time to do 1/4 mile runs. Website here: http://www.cecilcountydragway.com/ OR go the the nearby kart track for some kart racing action. Website here: http://www.midatlanticgrandprix.com/...COME_RACE_FANS

Please PM me if you are interested, dates that work or do not work for you, and your preference in terms of post-dyno activity. Also, I'll have to clear it with my wife, but as long as you don't mind two little rugrats, I'll tentatively offer a futon in my house for any peeps willing to either drive a long ways or fly out. If you do fly out, I live near the Philly airport and would include airport drop off/pickup. This offer is only open to oldtimers and people that I know reasonable well from this board. Sorry newbies, but I ain't housing a complete stranger.

I'm in, unless cjernigan decides to buy my car and I don't have a replacement yet.:gay:

Either after event is good for me.:bigtu:

Braineack 02-12-2007 09:54 AM

me and brad will be down for sure....

I'll probably drag a few other local turbo miatas.

BTW Cecil is the fasest track around here by far if you're looking for kick-ass ETs.

Why would I buy your car, I love mine. Hell i just ordered new pads and am getting ready to get my Megasquirt... Think you have me confused with someone else.
I'd do it, but that's one hell of a drive for me down here.

neogenesis2004 02-12-2007 12:12 PM

I'll probly pull it, do a mild rebuild on it and sell it. thats a ways off though, I'm gonna run it on 3cyl until the fe3 is done. Hopefully it doesnt give out before then.

I probably will come again :) If I do any mods this winter I will definitely dyno it too. I vote for carting over drag racing.

Okay for those of you interested, I added a poll. You can vote for more than one day so vote for those days that you can make it.

y8s 02-13-2007 03:06 PM
