Does anyone have 1.8 intake flange drawings?
Hey guys,
I am chasing some drawings of the 1.8 intake flange for both the 94-97 and 98-2005 engines. From what I can see the only difference is that the ports on the 98+ are positioned ~15mm higher than the earlier generation with all the mounting holes remaining in the same place. I haven't had any luck finding drawings but I guess that is to be expected given they would be in less demand than drawings of the exhaust flange. Can anyone help me out with this?

I have dwg and dxf file for this flange i made using the oem gasket as a pattern as well as several 1/2" stainless flanges that i can sell, you can have the file if you like.

I have dwg and dxf file for this flange i made using the oem gasket as a pattern as well as several 1/2" stainless flanges that i can sell, you can have the file if you like.

I have the 99+ in raw scan data, of the head, not the intake. Go with Midtenn, he has it all cleaned up 'n pretty.

HHammerly the image you linked appears to be the exhaust flange. Do you have drawings of the intake flange? If so I would be grateful for a copy. I am chasing both the low port and high port variants if you have them. You have a PM.
They look quite different to me, am I missing something? Was the scan done with a hand held scanner? I am curious how long it takes to get a detailed scan of items.

Midtenn even with adding you as a contact I still can't send you a PM without having =>15 posts. Can you please send the step file to: e-mail removed.
Does anyone know the port offset between the low port and high port heads? From this picture it looks to be around 15mm.

We've had a couple vendors come in and demonstrate their laser scanners, including Faro's add-on. The laser is very pretty and gives you info if you are making organic shapes, which we aren't. The laser is not as accurate as the touch probe, nor as quick if all you need are geometric feature locations. For example, if all you want is the location of a hole, you create 3 points around the hole with the probe. With the scanner, you spray the part with powder because the laser can't scan shiny stuff (dirty, takes a while), scan it (quick but definitely longer than clicking 3 times), then use fancy expensive software like Geomagic to have it recognize the feature, then try to remove the powder from all the nooks N crannies. This takes a lot longer than clicking 3 times with the probe and what you get at the end isn't as accurate or repeatable as the probe. That's what we use our Faro arm for, digitizing engine blocks and cylinder heads for valve & bolt hole locations, etc.
