Shift knob replacement for 2000 nb

I'm trying to replace the factory shift knob or maybe even throw in a short shifter. Anyone know of any good knobs? cheap expensive I dont really care as long as it feels solid, no fake carbon fiber ;)

Stock knob fits the bill. Cheap too.

lsj01 08-05-2011 04:25 AM

the stock one is ok but I was looking for something made of the same material but different shape, I done even know what that material really is? its like a hard plastic leather.

the factory shift knob is more than adequate but there are many options out there, check Walmart's selection, I'm sure you could get some more aesthetically appealing pedal covers while you're at it.

Fuck the peddle covers, I want tinkerbell on my steering wheel.

I hate to detract from this thread with a productive answer, but... I've had voodoo shift knobs on the last few cars I've owned. They sit a good bit lower than stock and are reasonably priced. http://www.teamvoodoo.com/Voodoo/Retailers.html

Bond 08-05-2011 11:34 AM

Ya, I like my voodoo, but the black ball gets hot as fuuuuuuuuuu.

lsj01 08-05-2011 02:01 PM

that's my main issue scott I feel like it s bit to high for me, and I'm not trying to rice out the car. I'm looking for comfort in my car nothing like this which is what you're proably thinking http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...-mods-hmmm.jpg

So, you're looking for comfort and yet you don't want a dildo on the end of your shifter.

I'm confused.

Go outside, and find a small rock that's approximately the shape and size you are looking for. Drill a hole in it and mount it on the end of the shifter.

Can't find a good rock? You can buy one (pre-drilled) from this company: http://rocknob.com/store/index/category/37/rocknobs

Haven't had any fingerprints on my right hand for a few years now. :giggle:

Voodoo seems reasonable and those rock ones are not bad to be honest.

lsj01 08-05-2011 06:20 PM

I think I'd be willing to try one of those rock knobs but what if it came loose O_o

You know my parents have this really nice cuboard my dad built with stone handles, just some smooth river rocks glued to threaded metal post, and they fall off every 6 months.

Tried to drill though them, no luck with anything.

Then it would be loose.

If if fell off completely, then it would follow a trajectory described by the combined forces of gravity and inertia relative to acceleration. So, for example, if it fell of while you were accelerating and turning right, then it would fall into your lap. If it fell off while you were braking and turning left, it would fall down into the area of the passenger footwell. If it fell off while you were sliding sideways on your roof, then it would fall "up" (relative to your local frame of reference) and come to rest on the underside of the top of the car. Etc.

On the face of it, this seems like a relatively simple concept.
