Shifter bushing snapped
I just bought my car and the shifter was in pretty rough shape so I took it apart and I only found half the shifter bushing so I'm assuming the other half is somewhere in the turrent has anyone else had to get a broken bushing out? If so how did you go about it? do I have to pull the whole turrent out? can I leave the tranny mounted up and if I just leave the bushing in there what is the worst that could happen?

Take the plate off the side?
This is my daily so if I drive it to work tomorrow with the bushing still in there could it break anything? Is it likely to break anything?

The turret is a sealed unit. You pour oil into it for lubrication. You can't hurt anything in the transmission if you have debris In the turret.
Unless he has a 6 speed, isn't the oil shared between the turret and the rest of the gearbox?
I had the bushing fall off and get lodged behind the shifter shuttle, and I couldn't get into odd numbered gears. There's a drain plug for the turret on the passenger side if you want to drain it and hose it out with brake cleaner or something.
