It doesnt look like you need a subframe from those pics. I'd just replace the control arms and bolts and see if it aligns or not.

Assuming the bushing did their job, the shock should be fine, although much past the angle pictured I'd expect the shaft to be bent, who knows what you'll find when it's out.

Like Leafy said, replace upper and lower a-arms and see if it aligns.

Doesn't look too bad from here. You lucked out on the damage, looks like you could massage those fenders back into place pretty easily too.

If you're gonna do the control arms, might as well just throw in a whole new assembly. Ought to be fairly reasonable from one of the salvage places. I'm just guessing, but probably not a whole heck of a lot more than the arms, bushings, bolts, etc. would be individually. Buy it as a unit and swap the whole thing.

OP, replace the subframe, both control arms, and buy a spindle while you're at it. The lower bolt is very bent and will need to come out in two or three pieces, which isn't easy or fun to do when everything is bent up like that.

Here in Arizona a hit and run is collision coverage, and not covered under uninsured, as there is no one to go after in court.

Which is why my fender and bumper are still fucked up. I have comprehensive, underinsured, uninsured, and liability. If I had only told the person on the phone that it looked like someone had vandalized my car with a rock instead that it looked like someone had backed into it. :jerkit:

I had always been under the impression that collision = my fault, and comprehensive = not my fault. Wrong!

I'm guessing they refused to repair, so he turned his car into a mobile unadvertisement for them.

I finally got a brief chance to see this in person.

One thing I notice is that the front driver side wheel looks turned to the right, whereas the left passenger side looks straight.

Can this be as simple as an alignment issue? Or more than likely a bent tie rod? I didn't think the front had too much damage. I'm surprised to see this. Insurance guy is coming tomorrow and will inspect more in the evening.

I'd say just the inner and outers. The racks are pretty stout.

You have another problem. It involves one or more types of oil.

That oil seems to be leaking from the valve cover.

Yah, this bent bolt is being a real pain to deal with. It's the one going through the knuckle.

Can I section this bolt with a dremel? What dremel cut off wheel can handle it?

For the bolt, if you're replacing the control arm, cut the ends off the control arm. The bushings and spindle will come off , and you can cut the bushings off, and slide the final piece out of the spindle.

Yes. No need to take it apart any more than you have to to salvage your axle if you're replacing the control arms, subframe, and upright.

Now might not be a bad time to swap in NB parts. A little extra track width with the rear uprights.
