Default Completed build, and a visit from the Turbo Miata gods

Finished my build last night. Only thing left to do is finish hooking up the EBC, turn up the boost, and dial in the tune. I finished at about 1am--just in time to get 4 hours of sleep before our weekly car-guy coffee meetup on Tuesdays...

After hooking up the last charge pipe I began the most important part of the build: taking pictures.

As I began this most important of tasks, I heard the soft pad of curious paws. I looked up from my viewfinder and what wonderous sight did grace my eyes.

That's right. Turbo kitten himself set foot, or should I say paw, in my garage mere moments after completing my build. It was a sign. The Turbo Miata gods sent this corporeal incarnation to assure me that "it was good".

All hail turbo kitten.

yeah, okay, it was just a stray wandering around, but he was super sweet and let me scratch his earses before moving on. :3

I lol'd at the cat, it's a true sign that our fearless leader turbo kitten is looking over you.

Not sure how i feel about dem brackets for your rad, but function>form and if they work, they work.

otherwise looks great!

Thanks, haha.

Yeah, changing those brackets (as well as ducting everything properly) is my project for the next week or so. Just wanted to get everything up and running, and those brackets were "free" (those are the hanging brackets that came with my intercooler) so I just rolled with it.

But yes, for now form follows function. Now that she's up and running I can gradually "beautify" her.

LOL one of the more entertaining threads from you, and congrats
I thought it was your car, but the fact that a stray showed up right after you finished the car is most definitely a sign. A good sign at that
BTW - your build is never "done". Just wait til you get addicted to boost and blow your rods to smithereens, then build it and run MOAR BOOZT!!

Its a sickness. We all love it

Yeah, a local carclub guy keeps telling me the same thing. I meant to put "this stage of my build" is done, but I guess I forgot.

The only damper is the fact that really, in order to squeeze more power out of this build, I would need forged rods, at least tricoated pistons, a 6speed (although I saw that there's a company working on a better transmission for turbo miatas?) which I would probably want to pair with a different dif...

---

It would be an even bigger and more expensive project than the initial turbo-ing was, and at the end of it all it would be (in my opinion) less fit for autox, which is where I do most of my "racing".

and yet I'm already on the lookout for a 6speed.... :(
