Rollbar Dimension Survey (or, Please Get Out Your Tape Measures and Yardsticks)
I've been trying to figure out why my rollbar limits my seating position so much. I'm not a tall guy (5'10"), and I don't generally drive in a "laid-back" or severely reclined position. And yet I feel like I have to position my seat uncomfortably forward and upright to avoid putting my head on the rollbar.
I decided to see how my Kirk Racing bar compares to the more common Hard Dog and Bull Frog bars. I figure the most easily measured (and most pertinent) dimension would be the distance from the center of the windshield header to the top cross tube of the rollbar.
The numbers are hard to read, but mine measures out just a bit over 22" using this admittedly-imprecise method. Call it 22 and a quarter inches. I measured it with the padding in place, not the tube itself.
Anyone who has a rollbar, I'd be very grateful if you are willing to take a tape measure and 5 minutes to measure as shown in my pics and report here with the distance, what brand and model rollbar you have, and whether you measured to the actual tube or to the outer layer of padding.

I guess this leads to a second question -- has anyone removed one rollbar and then installed a different (especially from a different company) rollbar into the same car?
I'm assuming the mounting plates won't be same, and I'm wondering how swiss-cheesed the mounting areas will be once I drill a second set of holes. Not to mention the holes in the carpet that may not match, holes in the floorboard from the integrated door bars on this Kirk Racing bar, etc.

Damn.
So...do I:
1. Yank the rollbar/door bars and sell them to some poor unsuspecting soul, buy HD/BF roll bar.
2. Yank the rollbar/door bars and sell them only to someone 5'6" or under.
3. Remove parts I want to keep and sell car with rollbar, start looking for a 94-95 or an NB.
4. Leave it as is and pursue foamectomy/race seat solutions to keep my head intact.
So...do I:
