Yep $700

Braineack 07-28-2016 01:33 PM

id buy it then. especially if that's a torsen rear.

the shocks/springs, sway bars, rear and motor are worth well over $700. and im sure there's plenty more parts you could sell and completely profit from.

psyber_0ptix 07-28-2016 01:34 PM

I want to go to the junk yards you go to

Philly Miata 07-28-2016 01:36 PM

Awesome, thanks for the input guys. Gonna do it.

It's a perfect start to an eliminator/exocet/catfish

That engine looks really clean for a j/y motor.

mgeoffriau 07-28-2016 03:03 PM

Way cleaner than my car.

turbofan 07-28-2016 04:01 PM

great deal imo

TurboTim 07-28-2016 04:18 PM

yeah, great deal, assuming the engine doesn't have a huge hole in the side.

Yeah I wasn't able to get a super close look at it today as it's perched on the roof of a Honda Odyssey, but I'm definitely hoping not to find a huge hole in the block from the past owner blowing it up. It seems like it was somebody's drift or autox car. That's the thing though, I didn't see anything glaringly obvious about it. If it's a moving part or something that can be replaced I'm completely fine with it, as I'm going to be removing the engine and building it from the bottom up. I'm curious if there are any goodies hidden inside like a flywheel or something.

Philly Miata 07-28-2016 07:57 PM

The confusing thing is why it's in the junk yard. Maybe it was repossessed or something? Why wouldn't the owner take the sway bars and shocks and stuff?

Someone on Reddit said maybe it got towed and the owner couldn't pay to reclaim it, so it got junked. That's what I'm hoping.

huesmann 08-02-2016 02:13 PM

Any body damage? That can total a Miata.

Philly Miata 08-03-2016 10:56 PM

Nah, it had a lot of body panels removed, engine sounded fine on startup, idle and short revs. It's out now!

psyber_0ptix 08-04-2016 07:27 AM

Are you parting anything out from it?

Downmented 08-04-2016 07:45 AM

Oh snap! Came with slicks.

OP, I'm interested in a driver side front bumper marker with pigtail.

driver side bumper marker, is that the blinker light? Pretty sure I have them, I'll have to check. I had to get rid of the car this morning, but I got everything I could off of it. So just feel free to ask about stuff.

Philly Miata 08-04-2016 10:08 AM

I'll go thru my parts and list/photograph stuff, some of it I want to keep for the swap but other stuff will be for sale. Any chance someone can identify if it had an aftermarket ecu in it? I don't think it did honestly, but I've seen them put into OEM ecu boxes and this car had a couple switches in the dash, so I'm not sure exactly what was done to it.
