Spark plug well is NASTY
So during my engine freshen up (new seals, paint, reroute, etc.) I noticed my #3 spark plug well looks like utter shit - a combination of crusty white and orange colored sludge.
Sorry, no pictures as the lighting was too dark for my iPhones sensor/iso to handle. Any idea what this could be? VC oil leak combined with water? Corrosion? The plug insulator looks fine. I haven't pulled the plug yet as I want to clean the shit out first - need to find an appropriate wire brush. -Zach |
clean and replace vc gasket

If I had to guess, its probably a mélange of water oil and rust. Do you have a hood vent or are you predisposed to hose your engine down to clean it?

Muahahaha how is the condition of the rubber cup that contacts the valve cover on that particular plug wire??? probably a mixture of water, oil, and rust from the moisture in there... do you wash your engine alot? EDIT: damnit, already beat to it |
