Spot the Miata

Came out of Lowes a few days ago and had trouble finding my Miata in the sea of SUV's and pickup trucks.

Does this happen to anyone else?
Is the Miata really a car? Or just an overgrown go-kart?

Here it is again!

I'd wager a beer that most of the owners of those SUVs are a family of 4 or less. Yet they feel the need to drive vehicles made for a family of 6-7.

It looks like you are parked in the shopping cart corral. The costco carts are nearly as big as a miata anyways.

Not quite! But as you can see, the carts and the car are the same height.

Hence my question "Is the Miata really a car? Or just an overgrown go-kart?"

(2), also "a more practical motorcycle" according to my mother.

Most American roads are straight and wide. Our fuel and displacement are not as heavily overtaxed as in some other countries. The cafe standards drove the automakers away from building station wagons and larger cars so the public moved to SUVs. Station wagons used to be everywhere and were the standard symbol of a family car in the 1970s.

... yet parking spaces have remained the same size :(

Well .... actually in Edmonton the spaces at places like Lowes, Home Depot, and Costco are wider than spaces used to be. Other places, not so much. But they seem to understand their clientele.

Sure make it easier to park the MIata gocart.
